The elements of appeal:

There are eight essential elements of appeal:
  1. Pacing
  2. Characterization
  3. Story Line (including the books context, type, genre, theme, and subjects)
  4. Language
  5. Setting
  6. Detail
  7. Tone
  8. Learning/Experiencing

Week 1 Assignment 3

I really like this.
Rosenberg's First Law of Reading: "Never apologize for your reading tastes."
Orr's Corollary: "Never belittle anyone else's reading tastes either."

Week 1 Assignmet 2

That was kind of tricky. I missed the very first one. I went for Regancy, but Small Town made more sense. And I learned something new. I had never heard of the subgenre Chick Lit. At first I thought is was a joke, but other staff members confirmed it...so thanks.

Week 1 Assignment 1 Sporcle

Wow...That was harder than I thought. I guess it is hard to judge a book by the cover. Not to mention that six minutes just jumps by when you're groping for answers.
